An Evening of Cocktails and Great Conversations with Nigeria’s “New Tech”

On the 15th of June 2016, the Founder and Group Managing Director, Interswitch, Mitchell Elegbe hosted a group of key stakeholders in the Nigerian Tech Ecosystem to drinks, dinner and conversations at the George Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.

This created a great avenue for high-level networking, as well as an opportunity for Nigeria’s new breed of tech founders – popularly referred to as “New Tech” to meet with Mitchell, and discuss possible collaborative ways to grow the ecosystem in Nigeria.

Among the issues discussed, are the challenges militating against growth in the tech space in Nigeria, as it affects both startups and more established players. Present at the meet-up were founders of Techcabal, Seyi Taylor and Bankole Oluwafemi, CEO of CcHub Lagos, Bosun Tijani, Director of Programs, CcHub, Femi Longe, Co-Founder/Lead Partner, Budgit, Seun Onigbinde, Co-Founder, Call Base, Oo Nwoye, Founder, Churchplus, Peter Ihesie and a host of other tech developers, founders, and bloggers.

Despite the rain and crazy Lagos traffic, the event was well attended with over 20 guests present. The evening was an intellectually stimulating one, as the “New Tech” left the George Hotel, Ikoyi, inspired and driven to work with Interswitch to take Nigeria’s tech ecosystem to the next level.
