The ​Interswitch Card Centre was established in 2004, designed and built as a world class card processing centre, certified by Visa as a Third Party Processor and run by a well-qualified, experienced and dedicated team.

Interswitch's Card Centre is a 24 hour operation running a multi-bank processing environment in card issuing and acquiring channels in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda, providing audited levels of security and confidentiality as well as excellence of service.

The Card Centre provides a full range of front and back office card processing services that handle the full life cycle of a card customer with emphasis on fraud control, risk mitigation and full card association management. In addition, Interswitch in its usual fashion has innovated to provide enhanced services in the areas of;

  • Fraud Management fully aligned with a 24 X 7 dedicated fraud management team
  • Paynet Card Watch to provide SMS alerts to individual card holders
  • Paynet Card View to enhance the financial  institution’s ability to promptly address customer queries via access to their key customer data

Interswitch is upgrading its card processing platform to handle EMV issuing and Mastercard in Q3 2012 and is working on a range of additional services to be added in 2013. Interswitch is also undergoing PCI DSS certification in 2012.
