In a groundbreaking effort to transform Nigeria’s healthcare ecosystem, Interswitch, through its health-tech subsidiary, Interswitch e’Clat, has launched its Electronic Medical Records (EMR) solution in Enugu.
The event, which was recently held at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, was officiated by the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, who commissioned the solution and emphasized its potential to significantly improve healthcare delivery nationwide.
Designed to streamline clinical workflows, enhance care coordination, and improve patient outcomes, the EMR platform provides healthcare professionals with real-time access to comprehensive patient records. Its seamless integration with existing healthcare systems reduces administrative bottlenecks and ensures seamless data exchange, enabling providers to focus more on delivering quality care.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Salako commended Interswitch for its contribution to advancing digital healthcare in Nigeria.
“The Federal Government remains committed to fostering meaningful collaborations with the private sector to deliver measurable impact for Nigerians. The rollout of this EMR solution aligns with our broader vision of modernising healthcare services and building a healthier Nigeria,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Babajide Oyeduntan, Vice President, Business Development and Sales (e'Clat Healthcare), Interswitch Group, reiterated the company’s commitment to innovation and strategic partnership. He stated:
“Our collaboration with key stakeholders, including government institutions, reflects Interswitch’s dedication to driving digital transformation across critical sectors such as healthcare. With this EMR solution, we are empowering healthcare professionals to work more efficiently and deliver improved outcomes for patients across the country.”
This latest milestone builds on Interswitch’s commitment to healthcare innovation, including its recent partnership with the Lagos State Government on the Smart Health Information Platform (SHIP), an initiative that is already transforming healthcare delivery in Lagos State.
Through its strategic interventions and technology-driven solutions, Interswitch continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare in Nigeria, advancing digital inclusion, and setting new standards in health service delivery.
